Decorating a nursery for the first time is so exciting, you're buzzing every step of the way from creating a Pinterest board and picking colour palettes, to the cliché of being that pregnant woman covered head to toe in paint, wearing denim dungarees. Talking from experience, the second time around isn’t quite the same, not only do you have a baby growing inside you, but this time you have a toddler hanging around your ankles asking for raisins. I mean let's face it, putting a wash on is a mission in our house let alone decorating a bedroom and so as you can imagine, it doesn’t quite have the same vibe! If you have a modern home, there's nothing worse than walking into a bedroom and for it to not feel like it's part of the house. The great thing about a Scandi nursery is it will be inkeeping with the rest of your stylish home. Bright colours stimulate and let's face it, that's the opposite of what you want when you’re trying to get your little one to nurse or go down at bedtime. So true! We’re all for Skandi – and if I had to do it again I would although it is kind of taking over the house! It’s so good for gender neutral and little touches can be added when baby arrives.
Low maintenance too as white walls and neutrals so no need to rush round matching colour shades. Definitely agree on the calming aspect too, loads of products in your shop to compliment too. So glad you’re here! 🙌🏼

I couldn’t agree more! Wish I had read this article when I was pregnant with baby no.1 (.. or even 2!!). But alas, mine are now 8 & 11 and it was bright colourful (over stimulating) mats, mobiles and all the rest I’m afraid. And of course, the inevitable re-decorating as they grew as well!
A scandal theme would have been so much more zen for both baby and me!! As a mom, you spend so much time in your baby room … feeding, calming to sleep and playing as well! This then evolves into reading …. so yes! A wonderfully clever nursery style …. for both baby and mommy too!

Love this, great advice! Every little one should have a stylish and calming Scandi nursery, instead of the typical pink or baby blue themes that you end up redecorating constantly.
